Q.What does
NWS next to your signature mean?
A. I am a signature member of the National Watercolor Society.
My work was chosen among the best submitted and I was awarded the signature
membership.
Q.How do
you create the realistic feel of your paintings?
A. I use a glazing technique built up by several different layers
of colors. Blue, purple, and red give the deeper tones needed to achieve
the transparent look. No black paint is used.
Q.Have you
won any local or national awards?
A. Locally, my paintings earned Best of Show twice in the BAA
Silver Palette Show. Nationally, I've been a finalist in the Artists
Magazine Annual Art Competition and the winner of the Winsor Newton
Award for the National Watercolor Society.
Q. Were you
involved in the J.Doe project?
A. Yes, my first doe in 2001 was called "Garden Doe"
and was located at 35th and Woolworth. In 2002," Autumn Wind-Doe"
was located at Ginger' Hang-up in Bellevue. In 2003, the Bellevue West
Senior class commissioned me to create "ThunderDoe" which
will be permanently displayed at the school.
Q.Where
can I see your paintings?
A. The majority of my floral's can be seen at The Designers
and Gingers Hang-up.
